Every young child is a budding artist filled with creativity and vision. And then, at some point before adulthood, many decide otherwise. “I can’t draw, I can’t paint, I can’t do Art!!!” Well, yes you can!

At Flourish, our series of 8 practical workshops with experienced tutors will rekindle your love of making Art and inspire you to be creative. The workshops will be a warm, friendly and welcoming place to meet other like minded people. They provide a dedicated space for you to spend some time away from day to day distractions and the freedom to explore your own ideas, making mistakes and problem solving along the way. You can expect a fun, relaxed and informative experience, with expert tuition and plenty of guidance.

Designed to re-awaken the ‘child’ artist in all of us, these workshops are also an effective tool to setting the foundations for future visual journeys, whether just for fun or in preparation for furthering formal education and training.

All workshops will take place in our dedicated space on the first floor of Flourish, Sessions will be broken down into theory, warm-up, practical and evaluation leaving plenty of time for discussion and sharing of ideas.

Sessions will run every Tuesday 10am – 1pm starting on 15th Feb, with the last sessions rolled into a full day of art-filled fun. Its intended that participants come to all 8 sessions but we realise this may not be possible sometimes so just let us know when booking what dates you can attend.

You'll experiment with a broad range of materials, developing skills and explore different disciplines throughout the 8 weeks. All materials will be supplied and refreshments will be included. This series of workshops are FREE and kindly funded with support from the Scottish Government’s Community Based Adult Learning Fund.
