The Guild Dumfries were excited to host their next Dumfries Market Festival and return safely to the high street on the 10th July 2021 from 10am until 4pm. We've had such a wonderful response to our events, visitors telling us how much they enjoyed the array of interesting and desirable items for sale, the fabulous entertainment by talented local performers and the laid back, relaxed vibe around the whole town centre. We hope you joined us to shop small, shop local and support your high street in Dumfries and explored the 40 wonderful traders that took part in July.
Safety measures were in place including hand sanitiser stations, face coverings, social distancing and contactless payments.
If you would still love to discover our marvellous line of traders from market day in July, scroll down the page to find details and links.
The Guild (Dumfries) C.I.C transforms the town centre into a community festival for the day! Our launch event last year in March was a resounding success but further dates were curtailed until we relaunched again in September 2020 due to Covid-19. We're were over the moon to be back again this year in May hopefully through to November.
At each event you can visit our Makers Market at Queensberry Square, opposite the Midsteeple and in Fountain Square to meet makers and producers. Peruse the many stalls to find covetable products that you might not find elsewhere. Enjoy buying directly from the makers and supporting independent businesses, many who live and work right here in the region. Feast on delicious food and take delight in a marvellous selection of beautifully crafted & unusual designs. It's the perfect opportunity to head into the town centre and shop local on the 2nd Saturday of each month.
There really is something for everyone including homewares, craft kits, cake, jewellery, artisan beers, original art, illustrations, candles, cards, prints, soaps, flowers and so much more! We hope you'll support all the businesses taking part, your sure to find something you'll love. Meet them all on market day and place your advance orders where you can.
So why not shop small, head to the high street & make a big difference! Lets us know you're coming by visiting our official event over on facebook, follow along by exploring the hashtag #DumfriesFest and find out news, updates and behind the scenes on social media.

Volunteers are needed on Market Festival days as well as in the weeks in between, so whether you can only spare a few hours once a month or a few hours once a week, we’d love to hear from you!
Being a volunteer is a great way to meet new people who live in your area, put names to faces you see in the street and generally have a lot of fun. Everyone has a skill to share so we’d love to hear from you no matter what you do.
