heloem is: true

Given the decision by  Scottish Government to extend the lockdown we've decided to move our Market Festival in March online. We hope that you will enthusiastically embrace this decision. We know it won't completely replace our in-person market festival, but it's a positive alternative. We are really excited to announce that we will be hosting our very first Online Market Festival on the 13th March 2021 between 10am and 4pm.

Rather than cancel the festival completely we hope that you will join us virtually and spend the day with us online, from the comfort and safety of your own home. The Guild Dumfries is strongly committed to trying to find ways of continuing to support our community of makers, creatives and producers during these strange times. We are determined to continue to host our events safely and will try our best to adapt and embrace this ‘new normal’ and the changes that lockdown and restrictions has brought.

During the day we'll be showcasing a handpicked and curated selection of around 30 talented makers and home-grown food & drinks producers from across the region here on the website in our directory. People with a passion for shopping locally can buy directly and support different small independent businesses, all of whom live and work right here in the Dumfries & Galloway. You will be able to browse the Online Market directory with each trader featured. Click the links to place your orders, commission special gifts, homewares and more.

You can also expect a line-up of fun, inspiring, hands on activities, music, demos, and virtual studio tours throughout the day on facebook and instagram. Lets us know you're coming by visiting our official event over on facebook and invite friends and family along.

We'll be announcing lots more details and information in the coming weeks with news and updates about what's on, our line up of talented locally based makers & producers, activities and performers.

Sign up to our mailing list to be the first to hear!

So although you won't be able to come along to the town centre you'll get to meet the makers and the people behind these small businesses online. Some of our makers & producers will even be sharing videos so you can find out a little more about them and where they've been working during the lockdown. They'll be talking through their products, chatting directly to you and answering any questions you have virtually. Obviously, we can't chat in person at the moment, but we hope that this event gives us the opportunity to enjoy some community and festival spirit together online from home and connect with one another, until we're able to do so this in real life once again.

Are you a maker, designer. artist, producer or indie business owner and keen to find new ways to get your products in front of new customers?

Why not get involved in our very first Dumfries Market Festival online event.

We are keen to collaborate with makers from across the region. We hope that we can work together during these unsettled times to offer our creative community support and opportunities to help grow your business and build your audience.
