heloem is: true

Are you a musician, dancer, choir, entertainer or performer?

If you'd love to be involved in our monthly makers market in Dumfries and be part of our 2023 Line Up? Well look no further, apply to take part here!

The Guild Dumfries are a not-for-profit social enterprise, and produce Dumfries Makers Market, a people powered community event, run and managed by volunteers, with a view to bringing visitor footfall back to Dumfries town centre as part of the wider regeneration plans for the town.

The monthly makers market runs between April-November on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Our market showcases local makers, creatives, food and beverage producers, with an ancillary programme of hands-on creative workshops, street theatre, music and entertainment adding to the micro festival atmosphere.

The Guild would love to collaborate with local musicians, bands, performers and community groups who would like to perform on the Plainstanes or play accoustic sets in The Press and add to the atmosphere. Please note that we must be mindful of town centre residents and we need to control the volume levels so we don't upset our High Street neighbours!

Sadly, we have no budget to pay for entertainment, while we build up funds to invest in infrastructure. So, if you are happy to simply get involved in this community event, promote your organisation | band | act and gain exposure then we'd love to hear from you.

You'll find the application form to be involved listed below. Our online application form can be accessed by the clicking 'APPLY NOW'. If you are filling out the application form for the first time you'll be required to share some business details, links to your social media accounts and provide us with good quality images that will be used in marketing each monthly event. We'd suggest preparing these details before you start the application process.

Once you complete your application, you will receive a confirmation message "Thank you for taking the time to make an application to perform at Dumfries Makers Market, we will be in touch shortly." which will be displayed on your screen once you submit an application online. You can also request to have a copy of your application emailed to you. You'll be sent a completed form and have the opportunity to make edits if necessary.

Once you've submitted an application, it's then a patient wait for an email response from us.   All applicants will be contacted to inform you whether you were successful or not, hopefully within a week of making completing the form.

As part of the organisation of this event, The Guild will undertake publicity and media coverage that targets Dumfries and the surrounding region effectively. Media exposure will create interest and boost footfall to Dumfries Makers Market. We will promote the event on our social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. On the run up to the event and on market day itself, we will be showcasing  those involved on our website, social media and will also send out information to our mailing list.

As part of being involved at our events we also have a dedicated page on our website for each months event, including a whats on guide and more details of who is there on the day. Everyone has an image and links to their websites or social media to increase their exposure.
