The Guild Dumfries previously hosted Dumfries Market Festival, our monthly outdoor street market festival but this year we've made a few changes, including our name! We are really excited to announce that our monthly Makers Markets will be back this year. After the success of our Christmas Makers Market when we welcomed over 2,000 people over the course of the weekend, we've made the decision to continue to use The Smithy at 113-115 High Street and The Press at 117 High Street. We can't wait to transform these Midsteeple Quarter spaces each month, right next door from Flourish. We'll also spill out onto the High Street so you'll find market stall gazebos infront of the Plainstanes and in the area around the historic Midsteeple. You'll have the opportunity to explore around 20 makers & producers on market day each month. We hope you'll join us at our next market on the 8th July for a day of independent shopping and great entertainment right in the heart of Dumfries Town Centre. 

Each month we'll have an amazing line up of local makers, creatives, artists, food and drink producers taking part from right here in Dumfries & Galloway and beyond. It's the perfect opportunity to head to the high street to help support businesses, by shopping small and local. We've always said we want to work together with existing retailers, hospitality businesses, accommodation providers and traders to the mutual benefit of all. We'd love to support and help coordinate fringe events on our market days to promote other local businesses within the town. Our market encourages locals and vistors to explore the town centre, and in turn, bringing much needed revenue to the local economy. We hope you agree that it's a welcome addition to the regeneration plans for Dumfries Town Centre and plays a part in contributing to the community of Dumfries.

We are keen to collaborate with makers, designers, artists, food producers and creative indie business owners from across the region, other parts of Scotland & beyond.

This is a great opportunity and a low-cost way for makers, creatives and producers to create greater awareness about their work, its an opportunity to increase your audience, engage with potential customers and make sales. Taking part is a great way for you and your business to interact directly with new and existing audiences, gain feedback about your products and also we hope have some fun being part of our creative community while you work. We hope you will be interested in joining our community and getting involved at our next market in the heart of Dumfries.
