The Creative Collaboration Market with Pedddle

Are you a modern maker, creative, artist or food & drinks producer ? If you'd love to be involved in The Creative Collaboration Market in partnership with Pedddle, well look no further, applications are now open!

We are really excited to announce that Dumfries Market Festival are teaming up and working in partnership with Pedddle – who promote markets and independent traders from across the UK – to pull together an online virtual market opportunity for Global Creative Collaboration Day on 26th September 2020.

We will be part of Pedddle's Creative Collaboration Market where markets from all across the country will be coming together for an exciting day of independent shopping!

Pedddle have run several successful online markets and this time it will be a collaboration of a selection of market operators from around the UK and Europe, including ours! How exciting is that!?

So how will it work?

Each market will run at the same time on the day. Pedddle will encourage visitors to dip into lots of markets so that we all get new visitors and potential customers find out about your business online. On the day itself, we will encourage makers taking part to post on social media and be just as active in engaging people as if you would be at one of our usual, real-world markets. So you must be prepared to work hard on your social media during and on the run up to the event. As well as driving incremental sales from your shoppable website, it will be a great way to increase your brand awareness nationally, to a really engaged and relevant audience.

PLEASE NOTE | You must have an online store and be able to deliver nationwide in order to participate in this market.

As part of the market you'll be incuded on the Pedddle website. On Pedddle.com customers will be able to choose a market to shop from and then by clicking on the image of each trader from that market, customers will be able to shop direct from your own website.

Is there an Application Criteria?

For this online market, we will be selecting all the businesses in the same APPLICATION CRITERIA that we would for our real life events and market festival. At The Guild Dumfries, we aim to provide visitors to Dumfries Market Festival with a diverse range of makers, creatives, independent businesses, food and beverage producers, with an emphasis on quality, regional and seasonal produce. Over a short space of time, we’ve built a strong reputation in the community as a key platform for emerging business owners to gain exposure and develop a brand presence.

To ensure we continue to maintain our reputation we take care and commitment throughout our entire application process. The Guild Dumfries will review each and every application thoughtfully, and we don't take it lightly it’s a serious business and a big job! If you’ve never applied to be involved in one of events before, please don’t be scared! We LOVE to hear from new makers and we're happy to give advice before you make an application. We’re keen to support all of our traders, both fledgling and the more experienced.

WHAT WE’D LIKE YOU TO DO

The Creative Collaborative Market is an exciting  online community event, designed specifically to promote our aims and vision but also to promote your work and business.  To make the sales process as easy as possible for customers you must have an online store to take part in this event, this can be from your own website, Etsy, Folksy, Shopify or another marketplace. Selling only through Facebook or Instagram does not count. You will also be expected to set up your own profile on Pedddle, following their instructions/guidelines by the deadline.

If you are successful, we would also like businesses to promote their attendance, let your mailing list know, post details or share information on social media, your blog and website. We happily invite you to send us content, social media posts and images that can be used in the run up to the event and to share your story.

We also want customers who visit you on the day  to know the makers and people behind the marvellous products they purchase. We want them to get to know you a little better. To do this  you must be present and active on social media during the day of the market, even if its just a couple of hours. You will be also be encouraged to go live on social media with others and by yourself. This is a key part of the market and we want you to  make the most out of taking part. It really helps to be seen so you can build a connection and engage with followers. You should also be commenting and interacting with other stallholders, as well as replying to any comments and direct messages on your posts. You should treat this online event similarly to real market and be prepared to put the hours in. Support and advice will be given to help you.

By taking part in The Creative Collaborative Market, you are agreeing to these terms & conditions above. Space is limited at this event so if your application is unsuccessful this time, please don't be disheartened or take it personally.  We want to provide visitors and customers to our curated events with a mix of sellers and disciplines and an alternative shopping experience.
